How can a new car not start? Don’t panic, some pretty simple things can happen to a new vehicle and cause it to falter. It doesn’t always mean you bought a bad car.

A dead battery is the most common reason a new vehicle won’t start. Depending on how long your vehicle sat in the lot, it is completely possible that the battery was accidentally drained or exposed to cold temperatures for too long. Thankfully battery replacement is an easy and inexpensive fix. If the battery is the issue you will notice your vehicle attempting to turn over and you might hear a little click. This means there is not enough power to crank the engine and you need a new battery.

Secondary issues could involve the spark plug. It is rare that a new vehicle could have this issue but is worth checking out as a simple fix. It is possible a plug has become detached or is faulty from the assembly line.  If you notice your vehicle losing power and lurching to a stop you might have an issue with your spark plugs that need to be addressed.

If you go to start your vehicle and absolutely nothing happens, no noise, no hope that it is actually going to start then you might have ignition issues. This type of issue is hard to address and will often require a professional at the dealer or your auto repair shop to diagnosis.
